The first blog of the year always has an element of reflection and hope attached to it.

At the core of our business, LDN Group believes that young people are remarkable, and that they have the potential to help businesses achieve remarkable things.

As such we look to partner with the best businesses in London to help them build a motivated workforce of young people through delivering innovative government funded apprenticeships.

The latest government figures however still show that this a major issue with a “73,000 fall in the number of 16-24 year olds who are in work” and that “the unemployment rate for 16-24 year olds not in full-time education was 10.2%.”

2017 has shown a movement in the right direction with 61,000 fewer people aged 16-24 registered as unemployed.

BUT that still leaves 337,000 people aged 16-24 unemployed.

We clearly still have a lot of work to do!

After delivering hundreds of apprenticeships over the past 7 years and from speaking to hundreds of business owners and managers its clear what businesses need are young people with awesome attitudes that can invigorate businesses; whilst learning digital skills that virtually all roles now require.

Based on this we have introduced some key changes to support the businesses that we work with and the young people starting their careers with us:

  • NEW Digital Skills Workshops every month for our Future LDN Programme for young people starting roles in Digital Client Services, Digital Project Administration and Digital Finance Roles.
  • NEW Qualifications Software Development Technician L3, Software Developer L4, Digital Marketer L3, Network Engineer L4.
  • NEW Career Kickstarters for 2018 with an unprecedented 72 dates planned for 2018 for you to meet your next apprentice.

In 2017 with the support of our employers and partners, we changed the lives of 105 young people who have now started their careers in an apprenticeship with Future LDN or Tech City Stars.

With these new initiatives and with your continued support we hope to help even more young people start their careers and achieve remarkable things during 2018.

If you are interested in a partnership with LDN Group that will help you tap into and train a wider talent pool through innovative government funded apprenticeships then please drop me an email to [email protected] and I can pay you a visit to introduce you to the work that we do.

Happy New Year!
